Adrianne Serna: Bio
Adrianne Serna - Songwriter, Vocals, Guitar
2008 is proving to be a year of renewal for Adrianne Serna. After years of performing with her band (The ASB) and touring solo, the singer/songwriter threw her amp and PA in the closet and decided to have some quiet time. This period of introspection and intense songcrafting has made way for the emergence of a talented artist who has truly come into her own. Adrianne's newest songs reveal a renewed maturity and a grounded perspective, all delivered with her distinct and intoxicating voice.
Adrianne is currently crafting songs for her third release and the end results will showcase an impressive collection of her most fully-realized work to date.
From 2001 through 2007, Adrianne self-released and sold thousands of her two full-length CDs ("Another Day in America" and "Time and Place"), and spent her time performing at festivals, clubs, and cafes throughout the San Francisco area as well as down the west coast. Her songs have been featured on many radio stations including Northern California’s KRSH, Tucson's KXCI, Cleveland's WRUW, Honolulu's KTUH, Arkansas' KASU, and Maine’s WMHB.
Todd Prose - Bass
Todd Prose is not a bass player. He may play bass in the ASB, he may have played bass on two full-length albums and counting, he may own two bass amps...but he is not a bass player. And we do not reccommend calling him one; it could get ugly.
Todd Prose is a guitar player who happened to pick up the bass one fateful day many years ago. The sound that (the then solo performer) Adrianne heard was beautiful, and she convinced him to learn a few songs and join her for her next gig. The rest is history, but one fact remains: Todd Prose is not a bass player.
Born and raised in the very fine state of Ohio, Todd moved to the Bay Area in 1998. Since then, he has spent his time playing music, enjoying the beautiful scenery, attending college, and paying exhorbitant amounts of money to Direct TV in order to be able to watch the Cleveland Browns on football Sundays.
When not rocking out, Todd can usually be found somewhere in his garden, rooting for the Cleveland Browns (like, duh), watching the history channel, or making extremely unique, completley unexplicable collages on the walls of the ASB rehearsal studio.
Dave Sampson - Guitar, Vocals
Dave Sampson is a guitar player, lover of chocolate milk, and thrift store enthusiast. If you ask him where he's from, his response will be "everywhere". At first we thought he was just being elusive, but, after further investigation, we've learned the truth - the dude has lived everywhere.
Dave moved to the Bay Area a few years ago and the ASB couldn't be happier that he's here. Not only does he add his tasteful and crafty guitar licks to the ASB sound, but he's an all around great guy. (Just don't tell him we admitted it.)
Dave started playing guitar at the age of 12 and it seems that since then, he has rarely put it down. Dave studied guitar at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA and has played many-a-gig in Texas, Alaska, Canada, the west coast, Europe, and the South Pacific.
When not rocking out , Dave can be found BMX dirt jumping, admiring International Scouts, or watching Seinfeld re-runs.
And, seriously. Don't take his chocolate milk. Seriously.
